The 8th Lecture on Faith -- An absurd civil engineer's extrapolation of the potential to move mountains with faith no bigger than a mustard seed. It is actually surprising that the mass/energy relationship allows for much more to be accomplished with mustard seeds than one might have imagined. Combinations, Permutations and Creations -- Is the number of 'realities' finite? Can we put a number to Nietzche's eternal return? Raises some serious questions about 'eternity.' A Few Tough Questions -- We posed these theological puzzles to our teacher. He didn't give us many answers. A Week History -- A compression of 6000 years of biblical history into six days.Science and Religion -- Essay authored by Albert Einstein and published in Nature, 1940. Letter to Einstein -- Response to above essay. Mathematics of a Miracle -- The fact that the story of Jesus feeding the multitudes with fishes and loaves is recorded on two occasions allows one to work out the solution to the simultaneous equations and establish a general pattern for feeding mutlitudes. If I had just one more instance I could separate the loaves and fishes but alas, we are compelled top treat them as a combined meal base don caloric content. Written in the 80's when I had more free time. Evolution of the Soul -- A look at evolution orthogonal to the evolution of the mortal body. Based heavily in LDS theology and well documented. Written in mid 80's and thinking has changed a lot. Nevertheless, this archives some thots at the time and stitches together doctrines in a self-consistent way. Dimensional Distinctions -- Loss of distinctions at higher dimensions. Clearly illustrated using olecular chirality but where do applications begin and end? Result of dream one night.
